User interface designer. Front-end tinkerer. Graphic design geek.
Hi. I'm Laura Lozano.
As you may have guessed, I'm a web and graphic designer. I spend my days playing with pixels, fooling around with HTML and soaking up as much design knowledge as possible. Currently, I spend my days as a UI & UX design apprentice at Fresh Tilled Soil in Waltham, MA.
Before arriving at Fresh Tilled Soil, I received my BA from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL where I majored in English Literature and minored in business. For my first foray into the real world, I worked as an Assistant Account Executive on the JetBlue account at the advertising agency Mullen in Boston.
After hobnobbing with all the creative folks at Mullen, I realized my passion for design and left Mullen to study web and graphic design at the Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA) at Boston University.
My skills include Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Fireworks and Dreamweaver as well as a working knowledge of HTML, CSS, jQuery, PHP and WordPress. In addition to a graphic design foundation, I have a traditional art background in life drawing and figure sculpture. And I enjoy tremendous amounts of tedium.
When not designing or fiddling around on the web, I spend my time watching nauseatingly cute animal videos.
